Early Sunday Thought: Lent

My dance card is pretty full this weekend, so here is a combination Friday and Sunday thought for you. For those of you who aren’t aware Lent has begun (in the Christian faith). Now for the longest time my view of Lent was, “Gotta give something up” or “Gotta pay penance for my sins”, or whatever, even after I started going to Church again. My present minister pointed out that, something you can do for Lent is CHANGE, and if you view it as a journey of CHANGE you can actually ADD things for Lent. That one was a cool idea by me.

So, for your financial and spiritual side think of ADDING something to help with your life:
1) Start that budget and live up to it during Lent, hey it’s only 40 days!
2) Try a diet for 40 days, see how it goes
3) Learn something new, from someone and use it.

  1. This is a good idea. I’ve never thought of Lent that way. I think I’ll do both…give up something and add something new. :-)
