The first time I saw the Million Dollar Web site, I thought it was kind of cute, I looked, and I thought about donating some money, just for the fun of it, but I bought a coffee instead.

Then I remembered there was a web site done by a young lady, asking for donations to have her breasts augmented. (if you are at work, this might not be a suitable site).

Then I read about a young lady who had run up $20K worth of credit card bills and asked people to pay this bill off, by “donating” $1 to her, and that seemed to succeed.

Now there is a civil servant here in Ottawa that is asking people to donate $1M to him so he can retire early.

OK folks, if these people appeared on your doorstep asking for this money, you’d laugh them off your doorstep. If they telephone solicited it, you might not even answer the darn phone, so why is it that you are so bloody excited about giving them money now? Is the world full of that many suckers, that all I have to do is put up a DONATE button (note there is one on this blog) and I’ll be rich?

Yes, for those of you about to comment about me being the Kettle pointing out all those black pots, yes, I have Adsense Ads and such, but I am not begging you to click on them, am I? Maybe I should?

Give to folks who need the money, and deserve your charity, you know who they are, not some deadbeat, hobo wannabe like me.
