Sunday Thought: Gambling on Palm Sunday

Sunday, April 9th, 2006

So driving back up the 401 from London to Ottawa, we passed within eyesight of a couple of “charity casinos” and I could not get over how full the parking lots were on a Sunday. Then it dawned on me, this is Palm Sunday, the start of Holy Week, and these people are gambling. Yes, if you are not Christian, it’s not as hypocritical (it’s still stupid to squander your pay gambling, but you aren’t being a religious hypocrite, so be happy with that). How many of these people went to Church and then went to the Casino? I really have some problems with this, but I am a bit of a crabby guy these days too.
