Random Thoughts: Look up, Waaay Up…

… and I’ll call Rusty.

This week caught me reminiscing about my childhood and one of my favorite shows (that I watched in Black and White, no less), The Friendly Giant. I was toying with a post about What the Friendly Giant Taught Me About Finances, but honestly, I really can’t get enough traction to write that one (if anyone does, please send me a link I’d be fascinated to see how you link the two together). Maybe something about Rusty the Rooster always being half in the bag could be used? Best comment I got all week!

The Friendly Giant

Hello there Friendly!

This week it was a short week, but I still managed to write about The Plight of the Turkey, When Do You Start kids in financial programs,  Employment Numbers Hovering in September, and a quote from my new favorite book Sh T My Dad Says : Overdrafts Summed Up Nicely. While the commentary on Overdrafts was a little tongue in cheek, the essence of the message should not be ignored.

There is one little chair for one of you, and a bigger chair for two to curl up in, and for someone who likes to rock, a rocking chair in the middle, here are some financial posts to help you enjoy those chairs:

Remember that I also micro-blog on Twitter, where you can see a whole plethora of good articles and pithy comments by me as well. Twitter feed where I re-tweet many great articles by some of my featured writers (and make the occasional odd or off colour commentary on life (in 140 characters or less)). I am also on Digg as Big Cajun Man as well.

Also remember my RSS feed is available too, for those who enjoy reading without looking at my archaic page lay out, and I have added an RSS Comment Feed as well.

Remember that this site is iPhone Friendly (and Android & iPod Touch Friendly), enjoy it on the go, in a readable format for the device. If you are reading with an iPhone or Android device, drop me a comment and tell me if this needs any improvements. This site is also in the Kindle US Blog list, if you are interested, not available in Canada yet (because no Blogs are available in Canada on a Kindle?!?). The tool I am using is WPTouch Pro click here to purchase WPtouch Pro!

  4. Thanks for including Boomer’s article on the risk of inflation. I know from working at a University, inflation is real at most levels, and even with tuition freezes in some areas I will still be looking at some steep costs to send my daughter to University in 16 years. I’m sure you know what that’s about… :)

  5. Thanks for the mention. I’m afraid to watch any of the old Friendly Giant episodes and tarnish my happy memories of watching the show.
