Government Shutdowns, Hockey Returns, New iPhone and Friday #ShoutOuts

Our friends down south have decided that having their Government shut down is a good thing, or at least the Congress thinks it is a good thing. My guess is that there will be a resolution fairly soon, but for those who think they have saved money by having the government shut down, the last time this happened, they gave civil servants back pay for the days off. My opinion is that the rule should have been that this kind of stuff should cause a snap election for all seats in both houses, since they can’t work together.

To my delight (and Mrs. C8j’s not as much delight) hockey has returned, the baseball playoffs has started, two different football leagues are going (NFL & CFL) and Formula 1 is still going on, so there are sports on all the time!!! It is the most wonderful time of the year for me.

I note the new iPhone is now sold out in many places, just goes to show that marketing is a powerful tool, since it really has no new features (aside from the iOS 7 making all iPhones waterproof thing).
