Better Job News in Canada for November

Our friends from Stats Canada announced on Friday a slowly improving picture in terms of jobs in Canada for November. The trend for this year has been slow and steady growth for jobs, which is much better than job loss, but, employment levels are still much lower (as a percentage) than before 2008 (will we ever get back to those numbers is the question, I suppose).

Employment, Stats Canada
Employment since 2008 (by number not percentage)

Unemployment held true at 6.9% as well.

Stats Canada did have a telling comment:

So far this year, employment growth has averaged 13,400 per month, compared with an average of 25,400 over the same period in 2012.

So the economy is not creating jobs as well as it did last year? That’s not very encouraging.

Unemployment, Canada,
Unemployment looks flat

Also job creation is working better for those over 25, than those under 25 (not a good thing either).

The Big Table

I include the big table showing the job situation by age group, look at the others, they are all very interesting.
