Well I think I now know what my psychological “line of death” is for the price of gasoline, $1 per liter stops me from buying gas. I drove back from Toronto and almost ran out, trying to find any service station with gas for less than 96 cents (I failed, and had to fork out at that price). This is INSANE paying this much money.
No one seems to care either. SUK’s (SUK == SUV) are still all over the place, people drive gas guzzling monsters with only a driver and no passengers, and no one seems to care about this.
Isn’t this what started the Inflation spiral in the late 70’s? I could be wrong, but I seem to remember this as at least being a catalyst for this. My guess is inflation is just around the corner again, and this is going to kick us back into the high inflation and thus MUCH higher interest rates coming VERY SOON which is then going to cause the number of personal bankruptcies to sky rocket as well.
Pay off those debts folks, because you aren’t going to get such good rates for much longer!
Good call, I’ve been thinking the same thing. The fact I’ll get to live through this one instead of reading about it doesn’t make me feel much better though, heh.
