Security: Identity Theft

Monday, March 13th, 2006

For fear of being called a “fear monger” or “Aluminum Foil hat wearing”, I give you yet another example of the big business of identity theft.

Police say the duo allegedly used online employment ads to lure victims to send resumes, then sent a letter to the job seeker promising a high-paying position.

OK folks, let’s repeat again, we NEVER give out our SIN number or personal information on line to unknown folks. The victims here were folks trying to get a job, and they got fleeced, so be careful with that personal information folks. This scam worked on over 100 folks that they know of, and countless more that may be unaware (as of yet).

Be careful and don’t get duped by these hucksters, flim-flam artists and slimey so and so’s! –C8j
