Vacation Hours

Sunday, December 24th, 2006

For my devoted readers just a quick note that I will be enjoying Christmas with my family, so there will not be as many posts over the next week or so. I will have postings as I think of them, just not as many, but fear not, I have not disappeared, just taking a break for some R&R.

I wish you and your families a Merry Christmas, Happy Chanuka, Mirthful Kwanza and a Happy and Prosperous 2007! -C8j

Lament: What’s it all about?

Sunday, December 24th, 2006

So I went for a walk just to clear my head and walked through the shopping mall parking lots near my house. I came away asking, “What is it all about?”, because the complete lack of common human decency (let’s live Christmas, Chanuka, Kwanza or even Holiday cheer out of this), was astounding. People gesturing to each other like they had just threatened to kill their mothers, and all they did was not advance in a line when they should have? Goodness folks, let’s be a little more civilized, please?

If your Christmas Compass needs a “righting” then please go over to our Moosey Friends at FMF and read the biblical scripture of the Christmas story he is posting, and read it, just to remind yourself why this is all happening. Let’s be good to each other folks, to paraphrase my favorite 6′6″ sergeant on Hill Street Blues. –C8j
