It is 10 years since the day that changed the world. I still remember it quite well, and the most vivid thing I remember is a co-worker showing me a picture of the second jet going into the tower and thinking, “Wow that is some amazing photo shop work!”, unfortunately I was wrong, and it was all too real. I spent the day locating my brother who was traveling. Luckily, he was nowhere near the flights in question. Later, I found out that friends in New York and New Jersey lost loved ones in the attacks. Life is very different now, and I don’t think for the better, but life does go on unfortunately too.
I will be at Church this morning. That will help me show my respect for the victims of that day and honour the victims of its ramifications.
This was a shorter week, and my Tweets were not as numerous, but still a few good ones in there:
- After lampooning Air Canada's new baggage fee, I found an old post about Legroom Fees. AC was considering charging for the seats by the emergency doors, which had more leg room.
- I have just spent more money in a week than I have since last September. I pointed out my informational post RESP This Round Finally ends. It actually posts to many of my posts on that subject last year.
- Since the Bank of Canada continues to say inflation is running at 2.0% in Canada I figured I'd point out that Stats Canada disagrees with Inflation Slows in July.
- For a little levity I add my post Boobs as a Metaphor for Earthquakes, which is silly, really.
- Finally, I included an old favourite, The Most Hideous Financial Picture. I am railing against pay day loan places again.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
