No Extra Curricular Activities, Autumn, and #Tweets

Another week begins with the threat of no ECAs (Extra Curricular Activities) in Ontario schools, and as a student who lived through this in Quebec in the 1970s, oh freaking joy! In the ’70s in Quebec (or at least in Montreal in the PSBGM), teacher strikes were a normal thing, and most of my High School career was spent with no ECAs, which creates a pretty lousy environment to go to school. Will this tactic work in the Teacher’s Battle Against Tyrannyâ„¢ my guess is no. The wage freeze will stay in place (unless the Liberals call an election and the NDP get into power, in which case there may be even deeper cuts (OK, that is a Bob Rae shot, my apologies)). Watch for a commentary by me on Unions in the near future.

Autumn is here (mostly), which means it’s time to turn off the Air Conditioning, get the furnace ready, and rake leaves. That sentence alone makes me cringe, but we also need to start thinking about the end of the year, Christmas, Thanksgiving, and many other fall activities. The summer seems to be over; bring on the Autumn!

As for the past week on my Twitter feed, lots of interesting Oldie but Goody posts from the Archives:

Henry Rollins is someone I want to hear speak and maybe meet.
