Do You Want to Stop Being Fat, Broke and Ugly?

Do you want to stop being fat, broke, and ugly?

Good news! Two out of the three are largely stuff you can fix. The third is mostly someone else’s opinion, and if you are lucky, their eyesight is very questionable.

Before anyone blows their cork, I have personally spent significant portions of my life being at least two of these things simultaneously. The ugly part remains the subject of active debate.

The point of this article isn’t to insult anyone. It is clear that meaningful change usually requires effort (i.e. hard graft), time, and persistence. There are shortcuts advertised for almost everything these days, but very few of them actually work.

Well, if you join a gym, you can lose the fat, and if you work hard at it, you can lose the broke part too. However, the ugly part is a matter of opinion; ugly is someone else’s opinion, so you can fix all three. So get to it!

There are shortcuts around these 3:

I wrote this one a long time ago, and I am still not clear on why I did.

2/3 Hard Graft

The fat and debt part are hard graft, and we all know it. Appearance can be masked in many ways, let’s forget about that part, but don’t overspend in that area either.

As has been said before:

Number 1 Get Rich Trick

Be born into money. Sorry, that is a truth most folks don’t want to hear. This is not to say that if you were born into money, you won’t end up bankrupt. Financial Idiocy is an equal opportunity destroyer of wealth.

Building wealth takes time for most of us. Some will find instant wealth (0.1% is my guess), but quickly find that wealth has the potential to be quickly squandered as well!

Hard Truth

There are no shortcuts. Real change takes time and hard graft. (BCM 2026)

Associated Health Thoughts

My guess is I will be writing more about health issues as I age out. Surprisingly, health is more important than money, though money can sometimes help with health.

  • Men’s Health
The introduction of erectile dysfunction (ED) medications like Viagra has reportedly contributed to an improvement in men’s health.
  • Going to the Gym to Work on my Retirement
The importance of considering one’s health in parallel with finances while planning for retirement. Regardless of how easy pension planning is for civil servants, if one is unfit or deceased, all financial preparation is meaningless. Regular exercise, in my case going to the gym, to maintain healthy knees and heart in older years.

How long are you going to live? This is a crucial part of your retirement planning, if you plan to live a long time you’ll need MORE MONEY!
