Today we celebrate the labour of the workers. Keep that one in mind. Capitalism today (in 2026) seems to be an excuse for corruption at the highest levels, let us hope the pendulum swings back soon. The global trade war, and associated wars certainly will leave their marks for years to come.

Today symbolizes the end of the Summer, and the beginning of the Christmas Season. If you need convincing drop by your local Costco for a reminder.

I continue in my Retirement Journey^TM and so far it is a learning experience. I have many great ideas, but not the urge to act on them. My wife has decided to UNretire, or NOT retire I guess would be more accurate, so my journey will be solo for a while longer.

Retirement Writings So Far in 2026

• Do You Wish to Stop Being Fat, Broke and Ugly? I think that is a good question, and a retelling of an older work of mine. Rehashing old concepts seems to be what I have done so far in retirement.
• University Fees: Opting out, revisited which is another rework, with some updated data. I got quoted or mentioned in the Globe and Mail again, for the first time in 10 years; how interesting.
• Retirement: Nobody Says. I have vetted my statement with other retirees, and so far, nobody has made that statement.
• Three Things My Dad Taught Me he taught me a great deal more, and remember also his important advice to me on what to do at University too!.
• Lazy Rehash of Financial Advice I think that one speaks for itself, don’t you think?
• The Pension Question is a rehash of the Nortel Pension debacle, that I narrowly missed.
• Retirement: Adieu, Farewell, GMOOH! The actual day I retired, my rambling thoughts on the matter. Sound have really been GMTFOOH! but that is a bit too NSFW.
